Spring is calling, and KNOX is ready to answer with Spring Fling - Plant the Planters, a two-part volunteer event that brings beauty and life to Hartford’s streets.

Join us at the KNOX Headquarters on Saturday, May 2, 2026, for Day 2 of Spring Fling - Plant the Planters!

KNOX proudly creates and maintains the oversized flowering planters that brighten Hartford each year, and we need your help to bring this year’s blooms to life.

During this event, the plants will be arranged in the planters. You’re welcome to join us for one or both days—no commitment required!

After the transplanting, volunteers can tackle additional projects around the KNOX property, from cleanup to creative painting, as we prepare for the growing season.

What to Know: Rain or Shine: We’ll be working primarily in the greenhouse.Wear comfortable layers and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Bathrooms, water, and light snacks will be provided. Open to all, but minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Come ready to dig in, give back, and help make Hartford cleaner and greener!

The  Greater Hartford Green Team is back at it again as we show some love to Hartford's Green Spaces. KNOX is working alongside Friends of Heaven Skate Park to do a clean up of the park on Saturday, June 13. Check back soon for more detaisl on the tasks, but we anticipate working on projects like planting, weeding, and picking up litter. Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or just looking for a way to give back, this is a great chance to make a visible difference in just a few hours.

The  Greater Hartford Green Team is back at it again as we show some love to Hartford's Green Spaces. KNOX will be partnering with a local residents that have been working to steward this green space that honors Marcus Garvey. We are working with the residents to finalize the task list, but we will do general clean up work, mulching, as well as some care for the flowers and bushes that they have planted to make the space more welcoming. Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or just looking for a way to give back, this is a great chance to make a visible difference in just a few hours.
