Spring is calling, and KNOX is ready to answer with Spring Fling - Plant the Planters, a two-part volunteer event that brings beauty and life to Hartford’s streets.
After Day 1’s transplanting and nurturing, it’s time for the exciting part: arranging the plants into the oversized planters that will soon brighten Hartford’s streets, parks, and public spaces! These planters will soon bring color and life to Hartford’s streets, parks, and corporate spaces, including landmarks like Bushnell Park.
On Day 2, volunteers will work together to create vibrant floral arrangements using the plants that were nurtured on Day 1. The planters will be filled with a mix of cascading greenery, tall centerpiece blooms, and colorful flowering plants—each one a unique work of art.
No experience? No problem! We’ll provide all the tools and materials you need, and our team will guide you through the process. It’s all about creativity, teamwork, and making Hartford bloom!
What to Know:
- Rain or Shine: We’ll be working outdoors, so please dress accordingly.
- Wear comfortable layers and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
- Bathrooms, water, and light snacks will be provided.
- Open to all, but minors must be accompanied by an adult.
